The International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes: The Billion Dollar Industry of Pathologising Infant Behaviour and Lowering Parental Confidence

Price: $50

This three-hour course provides a comprehensive overview of the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes (WHO Code) and its critical role in protecting infant and parental health, professional ethics, and lactation support. Designed to meet the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) WHO Code education requirement for IBCLC certification and recertification, this course equips participants with the knowledge necessary to apply the Code effectively in clinical practice and advocacy.
I had no idea how much misinformation about infant feeding is driven by formula marketing until I took this course. It has completely changed how I educate families and how I respond to industry tactics in my workplace. Every IBCLC and healthcare worker should take this course!
This course should be required for all healthcare professionals working with infants! Understanding the WHO Code is essential to protecting families from unethical marketing, and this training delivers the information in a clear, accessible way. Fantastic course!
A great balance of history, policy, and practical application. I especially appreciated the discussion on how the WHO Code protects healthcare workers from conflicts of interest. The only thing I wish was included is more discussion on global enforcement variations, but overall, it was excellent.
